Is the iPhone 17 Pro worth it?

Published · VoltVault Team

Yes, the iPhone 17 Pro is still worth it if you want a Pro iPhone without paying for the newest model: it has the A19 Pro chip, a 6.3-inch ProMotion display up to 120Hz, three 48MP rear cameras with up to 8x optical-quality zoom, and up to 33 hours of video playback (Apple's tech specs). Apple launched it on September 9, 2025 at $1,099 (US) for the 256GB model (Apple's September 9, 2025 announcement), and Apple's US store no longer sells it new. VoltVault has that 256GB factory-unlocked US model in stock at $949 USD: open-box, never used, eSIM only, with free tracked shipping from Utah, USA within 2 business days of confirmed payment and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Common questions

Is the iPhone 17 Pro worth it?

Yes, if you want a Pro iPhone without paying for the newest model. It has the A19 Pro chip, a 6.3-inch ProMotion display up to 120Hz, three 48MP rear cameras with up to 8x optical-quality zoom and up to 33 hours of video playback, per Apple's tech specs. Apple launched the 256GB at $1,099 (US); VoltVault has the 256GB factory-unlocked US model at $949 USD, open-box and never used.

Should I buy the iPhone 17 Pro or the iPhone 18 Pro?

Buy the iPhone 18 Pro if you want the newest model Apple sells new today. Buy the iPhone 17 Pro if the A19 Pro, the 48MP Pro cameras and the 120Hz display already cover what you need. Our iPhone 17 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro page lists the differences.

Is the iPhone 17 Pro Max worth it?

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is a different, bigger 6.9-inch phone, and VoltVault does not sell it, so $949 is not its price. This answer and our $949 are for the 6.3-inch iPhone 17 Pro with 256GB.

Does Apple still sell the iPhone 17 Pro?

Not new from Apple's US online store: on October 28, 2026 its iPhone 17 Pro pages sent us to the main iPhone store, which lists the iPhone 18 Pro and other models but not the 17 Pro. Some carriers and other stores still sell it, often with a plan or a trade-in, so compare the full price of the phone itself.

Is the iPhone 17 Pro waterproof?

No phone is waterproof. Apple rates the iPhone 17 Pro IP68, up to 6 meters for up to 30 minutes, and says that splash, water and dust resistance are not permanent and that liquid damage is not covered under warranty.

Will it work with my carrier?

It is the factory-unlocked US model and it is eSIM only, with no physical SIM tray. Ask your carrier whether it can activate an eSIM on an iPhone bought in the US before you order.

Is the VoltVault iPhone 17 Pro refurbished?

No. It is open-box, never used: the box has been opened, so we do not sell it as new in a sealed box, but the phone itself has not been used.
