New: from Nintendo or a big store
Nintendo sells the Switch 2 directly on Nintendo's hardware store: the Switch 2 system is $499.99, and the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle, which adds the game, is $549.99. Nintendo raised the US system price from $449.99 to $499.99 on September 1, 2026, so an older article quoting $449.99 is out of date.
The large US electronics, department and game stores sell the same console new, sealed in the box. Their prices and stock change from day to day, so check the store's own page on the day you buy rather than a list like this one.
For less than Nintendo's price: open-box
Open-box means the retail box has been opened, so the console sells for less than a sealed one. Ours has never been used: nobody has played on it. Our Nintendo Switch 2 is $349 USD, against $499.99 for the system new from Nintendo. Open-box vs refurbished vs new explains how the three differ.
Wherever you buy open-box, check five things before you pay:
- Never used, or used? Open-box can mean either. Ours is never used, and the product page says so.
- What is in the box. Ours has the console, dock, Joy-Con 2 controllers and cables. What's in our open-box Switch 2 lists it.
- Returns. Ours has a 30-day money-back guarantee from delivery, for any reason.
- Where it ships from and when. Ours ships from Utah, USA within 2 business days of confirmed payment, free and tracked.
- A person to ask. Email orders@shopvoltvault.com before you pay and a person replies.
