How to pay for electronics with USDC on Base, step by step
Short answer: save your order at checkout, get native USDC on Base into your wallet, keep a little ETH on Base for gas, and send the exact amount checkout shows, choosing Base by name. Your order page shows "Confirmed" once payment arrives, and the order ships from Utah within 2 business days.
This guide covers Base only. For all USDC networks see pay with USDC. For buying crypto for the first time, see how to get crypto to pay.
Why Base for USDC
One USDC equals one US dollar, so the amount you send is your order total. Base fees are a small fraction of an Ethereum mainnet send.
Step 1: Save your order first
Add an item to your cart, for example AirPods Pro 3, PS5 Pro or Nintendo Switch 2. Enter your delivery address, choose USDC on Base, and tap Save my order. Wait for the order reference. Checkout then shows the exact amount and our receiving address. Use only that address.
Step 2: Pick a wallet that supports Base
Use either a self-custody wallet that supports Base (such as Coinbase Wallet/Base app, Phantom, or MetaMask with Base added) or an exchange account that withdraws USDC on Base (such as Coinbase). Either works if it sends USDC on Base.
Step 3: Get USDC with a card (if you don't hold any)
If you have no crypto yet, buy it with a card in a separate app, then pay us. The pay-with-card guide walks through each option. In short:
MoonPay: buy USDC on Base with your card, into a wallet you own. Do not enter our checkout address as the purchase wallet. Phantom: tap Buy inside the app. Phantom also supports Base, but its card purchases are often USDC or SOL on Solana. If you buy on Solana, pay with USDC on Solana at checkout instead. Do not switch networks halfway through. Cash App (US only): Cash App supports bitcoin only, so you would pay in BTC rather than USDC on Base.
Each provider sets its own fees, ID checks and availability. Buying crypto does not pay your order.
Step 4: Check the token is native USDC
Base has two dollar tokens that look alike. Native USDC is issued by Circle, and its contract address ends in `…2913` (`0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913`). USDbC is an older bridged version. Most wallets label native USDC simply "USDC". If your wallet shows "USDbC", swap it to USDC first. Send native USDC only.
Step 5: Keep a little ETH on Base for gas
This is the step new Base users miss most. In most self-custody wallets the network fee is paid in ETH on Base, not USDC, so a wallet with only USDC may refuse to send. Some wallets can pay the fee in USDC; exchanges usually take it from the withdrawal. Check your send screen first:
Self-custody wallet: hold a small amount of ETH on Base. Base fees are usually a few cents, so a few dollars of ETH covers many sends. Exchange withdrawal: set the amount so that the "recipient gets" figure equals the checkout amount. Do not rely on the number you typed.
Step 6: Send the exact amount on Base
Wrong amount or network? Stop and email orders@shopvoltvault.com with your order reference and transaction hash before sending anything else.
Step 7: Track confirmation
Base usually confirms within minutes. Paste your transaction hash into basescan.org to check it yourself. Your order page shows "Awaiting payment confirmation" until our system sees the payment, then "Confirmed", and we email you. Keep the hash as your public receipt.
Step 8: Shipping
Your order ships from Utah, USA within 2 business days of confirmed payment, insured and tracked; we email tracking when the label is created. Shipping is free worldwide except embargoed or carrier-blocked destinations. See shipping & returns and after you pay. Every order has a 30-day money-back guarantee; crypto refunds go back in the same coin to the sending wallet by default.
Common questions
Do I need ETH to send USDC on Base?
In most self-custody wallets, yes: a small amount of ETH on Base pays the network fee. Some wallets let you pay the fee in USDC instead, and exchanges usually take their fee from the withdrawal. Check your wallet's send screen.
What is the difference between USDC and USDbC on Base?
USDC is Circle's native token on Base (contract ending `…2913`). USDbC is an older bridged token. Send native USDC only. If you hold USDbC, swap it to USDC first.
Can I send USDC from Ethereum mainnet to the same address?
We accept USDC on Ethereum mainnet too. Base and Ethereum share one `0x` address, but they are separate payment options. Choose the network you will actually send on when you save your order, and send on that network only.
I bought USDC with my card. Is my order paid?
Not yet. Buying crypto is a separate purchase with the app you used. Your order is paid only after you send the exact amount to the checkout address and the order page shows "Confirmed".
