Why is the Galaxy S25 Ultra so expensive?
Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Ultra 256GB at $1,299.99 (US) on January 22, 2025 (Samsung's January 22, 2025 announcement); it is expensive because it is the top model of the Galaxy S25 line, with a 200MP camera, a built-in S Pen and a titanium frame. VoltVault has that 256GB factory-unlocked US model in stock at $799 USD: open-box, never used, not sold as factory-sealed, with free tracked shipping from Utah, USA and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

What Samsung's price pays for
These are the reasons in Samsung's own words and spec lists (Samsung's January 22, 2025 announcement; Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra page):
- Cameras: a "200MP Wide-Angle" main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide, a 50MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom
- S Pen: built into the phone
- Build: a titanium frame, Corning Gorilla Armor 2 display glass and IP68 water and dust resistance
- Chip: Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which Samsung calls "The most powerful processor for Galaxy"
- Screen and battery: a 6.9-inch display, 12GB of memory and a 5,000mAh battery
- Updates: Samsung promises the Galaxy S25 series "seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates" from its global launch
In the same announcement Samsung started the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 lower. Their spec lists have a 50MP main camera, one 3x telephoto and an aluminum frame. That gap is why the Ultra costs the most of the three. Storage adds more on top: the 512GB and 1TB Ultra cost more than the 256GB.

Same phone, open-box, from VoltVault
Ours is that 256GB Ultra with the S Pen inside, open-box, never used: opened box, unused phone, not refurbished. A USB-C cable comes with it, but no wall charger. We ship it free and tracked from Utah, USA within 2 business days of confirmed payment (about 2–5 business days in the US), and you have 30 days after it arrives to send it back for the item price (how returns work). Samsung's figure is not the only price out there, so compare first. Outside the US? This is the US model, so check with your carrier before you order. Questions: orders@shopvoltvault.com.

Common questions
Why is the Galaxy S25 Ultra so expensive?
It is the top model of Samsung's Galaxy S25 line: a 200MP main camera with two telephoto cameras, a built-in S Pen, a titanium frame and Corning Gorilla Armor 2 display glass. Samsung launched the 256GB at $1,299.99 in the US on January 22, 2025. VoltVault has the 256GB factory-unlocked US model in stock at $799 USD, open-box and never used.
Why does the S25 Ultra cost more than the Galaxy S25 and S25+?
In the same January 22, 2025 announcement Samsung started the S25+ and S25 lower. Its spec lists give the Ultra a 200MP main camera (50MP on the other two), a 50MP 5x telephoto camera on top of a 10MP 3x one, a 6.9-inch screen, a titanium frame (the other two use an aluminum frame) and the S Pen built in.
Does more storage make it cost more?
Yes. Samsung charges more for the 512GB and 1TB versions. The one VoltVault stocks is the 256GB, the smallest size, and we do not stock the bigger ones.
Why is the VoltVault price different from Samsung's?
VoltVault sets its own price for open-box stock: the box has been opened, so we do not sell it as factory-sealed, but the phone has not been used, and it is not refurbished. It is $799 USD for the 256GB factory-unlocked US model.
