Which Xbox Series X models have a disc drive?
Series X is now a family of models, so the full name matters. Xbox's Series X page lists the 1TB Disc Drive Carbon Black model and the 2TB Disc Drive Galaxy Black model with optical drives. It separately lists the 1TB All-Digital Robot White model without a drive. The X25 Limited Edition is another separate disc model.
This store listing is only the black 1TB Disc model. The catalog here does not list the All-Digital Robot White, X25 Limited Edition or 2TB Galaxy Black models.
What does the Series X disc drive play?
The Microsoft Store specifications name the optical drive as “4K UHD Blu-Ray.” That means the disc model can read supported physical Xbox game discs and supported 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD movie discs. The All-Digital model cannot read physical discs.
People also search for a disk drive, CD drive, disc tray, disc reader or disc player. For this buying decision, look for 1TB Disc in the model name. If the listing says All-Digital, there is no drive or tray.
Is VoltVault's Series X the disc model?
