What PlayStation Direct shows
- PS5 Console – 1 TB (disc drive), $649.00. Sony's PS5 1 TB page showed the price and an Add button, not "Currently Unavailable". Sony notes the vertical stand is sold separately.
- PS5 Digital Edition – 825 GB, $599.00. Also with an Add button on PlayStation Direct's console page. It has no disc drive; VoltVault does not sell this one.
- PS5 Pro – 2 TB, $899.00. This is the one Sony marked "Currently Unavailable". It is a different console; see Is the PS5 Pro sold out?
- A note on discs. Sony's 1 TB page says: "From Jan 2028, newly released games on PlayStation will be available for purchase on PlayStation Store and at retailers in digital format only." The disc drive plays the game discs, Blu-rays and DVDs you already own.
So is the PS5 sold out everywhere?
Not at Sony's own store on the day we read it. If a store near you shows the PS5 as sold out, check which model it means: the PS5 Pro was the PlayStation console Sony listed as unavailable, while the standard disc and digital models had an Add button. VoltVault sells the disc model, not the Pro or the Digital Edition.
