For a new one, Sony's own PlayStation Direct page lists the 1 TB console with a disc drive at $649.00, and Best Buy's page lists the PS5 Slim 1TB at $649.99, both read on October 28, 2026.

Sony's and Best Buy's pages read October 28, 2026. Prices and stock change, so open Sony's PS5 page for today's figure.

Where each store stood when we looked

• PlayStation Direct (Sony), read October 28, 2026. $649.00 for the 1 TB PS5 console, with an Add button, so it was orderable. The page says "This console has a disc drive." and that the vertical stand is sold separately.
• Sony Certified Refurbished, read October 28, 2026. Sony's hardware page also listed a Certified Refurbished Slim console at $549.00, with a Disc or Digital choice. That is Sony's refurbished unit, not a new console and not ours.
• Best Buy, read October 28, 2026. $649.99 for the PlayStation 5 Slim Console, 1TB. The page labelled it a "High Demand Product" with a reservation process and said an account is required to buy it. Open-box, refurbished and new copies from Best Buy and marketplace sellers started at $574.99.
• Amazon, Walmart, Target and GameStop: we did not check these ourselves. Look at the "sold by" line and the condition on any listing there.
• VoltVault. The PS5 Slim Disc Edition 1TB is listed in stock at $399 USD, open-box and never used (PS5 Disc Edition in stock).

Which PS5 you get from us

The Disc Edition: the PS5 Slim with 1TB of storage and the disc drive built in, so it plays PS5 game discs and most PS4 game discs. It is not the Digital Edition, and it is not the add-on drive. In the box: the console, a DualSense controller, the cables and the horizontal feet; the vertical stand is sold separately, as it is from Sony. It is open-box, never used: the box has been opened, so we do not sell it as factory-sealed, but the console itself has not been used.

Already have a Digital Edition?

Then you do not need a new console to play discs. Sony sells a separate disc drive for PS5 Digital Edition consoles. VoltVault does not sell that drive. If you are still choosing between the two models, PS5 Digital vs Disc compares them.

How buying from VoltVault works

• Order on the PlayStation 5 (Disc Edition) page; the price there is the item price, $399 USD
• Ships from Utah, USA within 2 business days of confirmed payment; US transit is about 2–5 business days, and the tracking number is emailed when the label is made
• Return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the item price (returns policy)
• Ask a person before you pay: orders@shopvoltvault.com

What to check before you buy a PS5 Disc Edition anywhere

• Disc or Digital. The title should say Disc Edition or "has a disc drive". The Digital Edition plays downloads only unless you add Sony's drive.
• Who is selling it. On big retail sites, a listing can be sold by a marketplace seller rather than the store itself. Read the "sold by" line and that seller's return terms.
• Condition. Open-box, refurbished, pre-owned and new are different conditions. Ours is open-box, never used.
• Discs after 2028. Sony's page says newly released games go digital-only from Jan 2028. Best Buy's page says discs for earlier games keep working on this console.
