How long does the iPhone Duo battery last?
Apple rates the iPhone Duo at up to 24 hours of typical use, up to 31 hours of video on the 7.6-inch inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer display. Those are Apple's lab figures. In PetaPixel's review, a long day of moderate to heavy use ended just under 30 percent. Apple does not publish the battery capacity in mAh. VoltVault lists the iPhone Duo in 256GB ($1,899 USD), 512GB ($2,099 USD), 1TB ($2,499 USD) and 2TB ($3,099 USD), US model, open-box and never used, with free tracked shipping from Utah, USA.

Apple's battery figures for the iPhone Duo
- Typical use: up to 24 hours
- Video playback, inner display: up to 31 hours
- Video playback, outer display: up to 44 hours
- Streamed video: up to 26 hours inner, up to 37 hours outer
- Battery: dual built-in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries
- Capacity (mAh or Wh): not listed by Apple
How Apple measured it
Apple's footnotes say the typical-use figure comes from its own August 2026 tests on preproduction iPhone Duo units, using a usage profile based on the median iPhone user (messaging, photos, music, social media, video, games, web and navigation) split equally between the inner and outer screens. The video figures come from a repeated HDR movie with Auto-Brightness and True Tone turned off. Apple adds that battery life varies by use, configuration, cellular network, signal strength and other factors.
So treat the hours as a fair way to compare iPhones, not a promise for your day. If you mostly use the big inner screen, expect less than the outer-screen figures: Apple's own video numbers drop from 44 to 31 hours when you switch screens.
What a real day looks like
PetaPixel's review (October 21, 2026) used the Duo from 7 AM to 9:30 PM without charging: photos, photo editing, messages, email and some YouTube. It ended the day just under 30 percent, and the reviewer called the battery life "just barely good enough". The review also found the phone gets warm when you push it with games or photo editing.
VoltVault has not run battery tests on its units. Every iPhone Duo we list is open-box and never used, so you set it up as a new phone.
Charging
- Wired: up to 50 percent in around 20 minutes with a 60W-capable adapter or higher and a USB-C cable. PetaPixel notes the iPhone 18 Pro does it in 15 minutes.
- MagSafe: up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes with a 35W adapter or higher and a MagSafe Charger.
- Wireless: MagSafe and Qi2 up to 25W.
- In the box: the phone and a USB-C cable. No power adapter; Apple sells adapters and the MagSafe Charger separately.
Battery health and lifespan
Check it in Settings, Battery, Battery Health. Apple's battery page says a new iPhone's maximum capacity can show slightly less than 100 percent, depending on how long it sat between manufacture and activation. Apple also says every battery has limited charge cycles and may eventually need replacing.
To slow wear, Apple's charging guide lets iPhone 15 models and later set a charge limit from 80 to 100 percent (Settings, Battery, Charging), and Optimized Battery Charging learns your routine over at least 14 days. Apple's battery tips say to avoid heat above 95° F (35° C) and to take the phone out of certain cases if it gets hot while charging.
Is the battery a reason not to buy?
Not for most people who charge every night. If you are away from a charger for very long days and mostly use the inner screen, plan on a top-up or look at the iPhone 18 Pro Max, which Apple rates at up to 30 hours of typical use. Compare the Duo and the 18 Pro Max or the Duo and the 18 Pro. Our page on iPhone Duo problems covers the other trade-offs.
