Sony has raised the US price of the PS5 Pro twice since its $699.99 launch in November 2024: on August 21, 2025 and again on April 2, 2026, the change announced in Sony's March 27, 2026 PlayStation Blog post. PS5 Pro price increase dates
- November 7, 2024: the PS5 Pro launches at $699.99 USD with a 2TB SSD and no disc drive (Sony's September 10, 2024 launch post).
- August 21, 2025: first US increase. Sony's reason: "Similar to many global businesses, we continue to navigate a challenging economic environment" (Sony's August 20, 2025 post).
- April 2, 2026: second increase, this time for the PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, PS5 Pro and PlayStation Portal in the US, UK, Europe and Japan. Sony's reason: "continued pressures in the global economic landscape" (Sony's 2026 notice).
- Since then: no further PS5 Pro price change announced on the PlayStation Blog as of October 28, 2026.

What the increase means if you are buying now
- Sony's own price for a new PS5 Pro is the one in Sony's 2026 notice, effective April 2, 2026.
